BIRD PARK Tour

The Foz Tropicana Bird Park is a financially independent private enterprise on the Brazilean Side of the Iguazzu falls. Its objectives are reproduction of endangered species, environmental education and eco tourism. It covers an area of 16 hectares of subtropical forest near the National Park in Brazil, and stretches from the road to the river Iguassu. The visitor follows a 1000 m long and winding path through the forest, in which the aviaries have been located. He enters huge aviaries where he comes into close contact with the birds. He has the opportunity to take photos and observe the Brazilian birds at close range, such as: Macaws, toucans, conures, and many more tropical species.

At present the Bird Park has 1000 birds of 150 species, including subtropical species of Africa, Asia, and Australia. One large aviary contains butterflies and humming birds. An additional attraction is the reptile area : the caiman lake with the mixed population of fish, caiman and turtles, which surrounds the monkey island; the snake enclosure for the boa constrictor; the iguana house.
The Bird Park has a large parking area, a handicraft and souvenir shop and a restaurant in the pleasant vicinity of the flamingo lakes. Here the visitor can be photographed with tame macaws.
