Iguazu Falls in Argentina
Welcome to one of the most astounding National Parks of Argentina.
The Iguazu Falls which, considered being one of the Seven Wonders of the World due to their natural magnificence and their wonderful vegetation, astound those who have the possibility of getting in contact with them.
The falls are divided between Brazil and Argentina – while the Brazil side is most spectacular, the Argentine side is more pleasant to explore, but to see them properly one must visit both sides. At the Argentinean side several pasarelas give good views of smaller falls, and, in the distance, the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Gorge).
A train from the visitor center operates regularly to shuttle visitors from site to site. At the last stop, follow the trail to the lookout perched right on the edge of the mighty falls. Of all sights on earth, this must come closest to the experience of sailing off the edge of the earth imagined by early European sailors, as the deafening cascade plunger to a murky destination, blurred by the rising vapor soaking the viewer.
A dazzling panorama of cascades whose power overwhelms the sounds of the surrounding jungle, Las Cataratas del Iguazu ( Iguazu Falls) refers to the spectacular canyon of waterfalls fed by the Rio Iguazu. This spectacle is one of South America’s most extraordinary sights. Are one of the wildest wonders of the world, declared a World Heritage Area by UNESCO in 1984, these 275 separate waterfalls were shaped by 120 million years of geological history and form one of earth’s most unforgettable sights.
The sight is especially interesting from the watchtower that is located in the Hito Argentino (Argentine milestone) -obligatory visit in this city, right in the confluence of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers.
| This area is best known for its waterfalls, and also, for much more, like the great experience of the The Macuco Safari excursion induces a fantastic feeling of nature and adventure to the visitor. |
On board a trailer drawn by a specialized vehicle, he experiences for 3 km the Atlantic rainforest. Multilingual guides comment on fauna and flora. After the ride he walks on foot to the Macao fall, which falls between 1000 years old rocks 20m deep into the valley.
The last and most exciting part of the adventure takes the visitor up the Iguaçu river towards the Garganta del Diablo in twin engine inflatable boats. The visitor is rewarded with a unique view of the falls.
The excursion lasts 1 hour 45 minutes, departure every 15 minutes.
The park presents the beauty of the subtropical jungle that shelters 2,000 vegetable species.,450 different kinds of birds (toucans, humming-birds, turkey buzzards, woodpeckers, etc.) 80 species of mammals (oso melero, peccary, jaguar, etc.) and many species of reptiles, amphibious and fish, as well as countless types of invertebrates, like butterflies.
That is why it is highly recommended to walk quietly when you are inside the park to enjoy the sounds, the aromas and the movements of the peculiar inhabitants of the jungle.
Every tourist visiting and enjoying Iguazu National Park must experience the sensation of the Ecological Train To The Jungle, through the middle of the jungle – experiencing the aromas, weather, and the sounds of the forest.
The best way to get immerse yourself in the falls is combining the whole essence of the Iguassu National Park, in one ride : The jungle and the waterfalls, this Great Adventure , is unique, shows more than what the traditional circuits / trails can offer ( Higher Circuit, Lower Circuit, Devil’s Throat) The visitors can get a different perspective and experience new sensations and feelings. Furthermore, can make it possible for the visitors to actually interact with the falls, sail in its rapids, and feel its water in the skin.
From the Argentinian side you can visit the world’s largest hydroelectric dam, called Itaipu Hydroelectric. It is powered by the waters of the Parana River, and manteins both on the Brazilian bank and on the Paraguayan.
